  2.                            GNEWS License Agreement
  3.                            -----------------------

  5.        (1)  Copyright:  The GNEWS program and all other programs and
  6.        documentation distributed or shipped with it are Copyright to
  7.        Gibi Cohen, 1991, or are distributed under license to Gibi Cohen,
  8.        and are protected by Israel and international copyright law.
  9.        In the rest of this document, this collection of programs is referred
  10.        to simply as "GNEWS".
  11.        You are granted a license to use your copy of GNEWS only under
  12.        the terms and conditions specified in this license agreement.

  14.        (2)  Definitions:  GNEWS is distributed in two forms.  A
  15.        "registered" copy of GNEWS is a copy distributed on diskette,
  16.        purchased from Gibi Cohen, and which includes a Key file and the
  17.        legend "licensed" or "registered" in the program sign-on message
  18.        and on the diskette label.
  19.        A "shareware" copy of GNEWS is a copy distributed on diskette or
  20.        via an electronic bulletin board, on-line service, or other electronic
  21.        means, obtained from a shareware disk vendor, or obtained from
  22.        another individual, and which displays the legend "shareware" in
  23.        the program sign-on message, and in most cases on the diskette
  24.        label as well (if applicable).

  26.        (3)  Shareware Copies:  Shareware copies of GNEWS are distributed
  27.        to allow you to try the program before you pay for it.  They are
  28.        Copyright 1991, Gibi Cohen, and do not constitute "free" or
  29.        "public domain" software.
  30.        You may use a shareware copy of GNEWS at no charge.

  32.        (4)  Registered Copies:  Registered copies of GNEWS are
  33.        distributed to those who have purchased them.  Your registered
  34.        copy of GNEWS may only be used on the number of computers
  35.        specified on the diskette label.

  37.        (5)  Use of One Copy on Two Computers:  If you have a registered
  38.        copy of GNEWS which is licensed for use on a single computer, you
  39.        may install it on two computers used at two different locations
  40.        (for example, at work and at home), provided there is no
  41.        possibility that the two computers will be in use at the same
  42.        time, and provided that you yourself have purchased GNEWS, or if
  43.        GNEWS was purchased by your employer, that you have your
  44.        employer's explicit permission to install GNEWS on two systems as
  45.        described in this paragraph.  The right to install one copy of
  46.        GNEWS on two computers is limited to copies originally licensed
  47.        for use on a single computer, and may not be used to expand the
  48.        number of systems covered under a multi-system license.

  50.        (6)  Use of GNEWS on Networks or Multiple Systems:  You may
  51.        install your registered copy of GNEWS on a computer attached to a
  52.        network, or remove it from one computer and install it on a
  53.        different one, provided there is no possibility that your copy
  54.        will be used by more users than it is licensed for.  A "user" is
  55.        defined as one keyboard which is connected to a computer on which
  56.        GNEWS is installed, regardless of whether or not the user of the
  57.        keyboard is aware of the installation or use of GNEWS in the
  58.        system.

  60.        (7) Making Copies:  You may copy any version of GNEWS for normal
  61.        backup purposes, and you may give copies of the shareware version
  62.        to other individuals, which they may also use and copy subject to
  63.        the terms of this agreement.  If you copy the shareware version
  64.        of GNEWS for others, you must include all of the files distributed
  65.        with it, including this one.  You may not give copies of the
  66.        registered version to any other person for any purpose.

  68.        (8) Distribution Restrictions:  You may NOT distribute GNEWS other
  69.        than through individual copies of the shareware version passed to
  70.        friends and associates for their individual use.  Specifically,
  71.        you may not distribute GNEWS with any other product or as an
  72.        incentive to purchase any other product, without express written
  73.        permission from Gibi Cohen, and you may not distribute for a fee,
  74.        or in any way sell copies of GNEWS or any part of the GNEWS package.

  76.        (9)  Use of GNEWS:  GNEWS is a powerful program.  While I have
  77.        attempted to build in reasonable safeguards, if you do not use
  78.        GNEWS properly you may destroy files or cause other damage to your
  79.        computer software and data.  You assume full responsibility for
  80.        the selection and use of GNEWS to achieve your intended results.
  81.        As stated below, Gibi Cohen limits its warranty to replacement
  82.        of a defective program diskette or manual.
  83.  
  84.        (10) LIMITED WARRANTY:  Gibi Cohen warrants to owners of
  85.        registered copies of GNEWS that the software will operate in
  86.        accordance with the description given in the documentation, and
  87.        that the diskette and manual will be free of physical defects
  88.        which interfere with normal use.  The software on the GNEWS
  89.        Disk which was not created by Gibi Cohen, as stated in
  90.        the documentation provided on the disk, is not warranted to
  91.        operate in accordance with its documentation, and is sold AS-IS
  92.        AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND BY Gibi Cohen.  For a period
  93.        of 90 days from the date of your purchase of GNEWS, Gibi Cohen
  94.        will, at its sole option and subject to the restrictions above
  95.        and below, repair or replace any defective item(s), or refund the
  96.        purchase price of any diskette and/or manual and/or any other
  97.        parts or components of GNEWS found to be defective, if such defect
  98.        is the fault of Gibi Cohen and not the result of misuse or
  99.        abuse.  Such a refund, repair, or replacement shall be your sole
  100.        remedy for any defects, program error(s), or documentation
  101.        error(s).  In no event shall Gibi Cohen be responsible for any
  102.        other costs or damages whatsoever due to errors in usage or your
  103.        failure to read, understand, or follow instructions in the
  104.        documentation.  Gibi Cohen MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS
  105.        OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF
  106.        MERCHANTABILITY AND OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
  107.        Gibi Cohen's warranty is expressly limited to the cost of
  108.        replacement of any defective diskette or other part.
  109.
